Marijuana just moved off Schedule 1, but the risk did not disappear.
It just got more complicated. Get clear on what
actually changed, what did not, and what your institution needs to do next
before the regulators do it for you.
KEY WEBINAR TAKEAWAYS
- How historic marijuana rescheduling does — and does not — impact financial institutions
- Assessing cannabis banking risks post-rescheduling and pre-SAFER Banking Act
- How reclassification affects your organization’s marijuana policy and procedures
BONUS MATERIALS
- Whitepaper: Marijuana Policy & Best Practices: Handling Employee Medical & Recreational Use
- Marijuana Rules: Guidelines for Creating Effective Cannabis Policy & Procedures
WEBINAR DETAILS
In April 2026, the long-awaited reclassification of
marijuana from a Schedule 1 drug (on par with heroin) to a Schedule 3 drug
(comparable to Tylenol® with codeine) was announced by the Department of
Justice. The historic rescheduling of medical marijuana will favorably impact
the cannabis industry — and potentially could improve licensed marijuana
operators’ access to financial institutions’ products and services. This
webinar will explore how to assess and manage risks associated with providing
products and services to the cannabis industry post-rescheduling and pre-SAFER
Banking Act. Learn what rescheduling means (or does not mean) for your
financial institution’s marijuana policy, testing, terminations,
accommodations, and other HR and business issues.
