Safety, soundness and compliance issues can make residential loans difficult and risky. Recently examiners have expressed concern regarding some bank procedures. Since problems can occur during construction, leaving lenders highly exposed, understanding the risks in residential construction lending is essential.  This session provides the information and tools needed to minimize risks. Policies and procedures will be covered that will address underwriting, compliance and documentation.  Helpful tools such as checklists and sample policy language will be provided.

Ann Brode began her banking career in 1973 and has continued her service to regional and community banks through a wide range of areas including strategic planning, lending, deposits, marketing, training and management; both as a banker and as a consultant.  Her consulting firm assists community banks in all of these important areas.  Ann is a well-respected presenter and has spoken to banking audiences across the country for over 18 years and regularly speaks at banking conventions.  She has presented sessions for numerous state associations, ABA, BAI, ICBA and has taught at the School of Banking Administration at the University of Wisconsin and numerous state banking schools.  She is the author of The Bank Deposit Documentation Manual for Front-Line Personnel, published by Bankers Publishing Company and is well published in numerous banking publications.

 

WHAT IS A TELEPHONE/WEBCAST SEMINAR?
