A simple definition of a bank’s risk management program is management’s formal or informal system for identifying, measuring, controlling, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks associated with its products and lines of business.

Points to remember:

The quality of risk management existing within an institution will be an integral part of determining that institution’s overall safety and soundness rating – i.e., the CAMELS.  This session covers the elements that every bank's risk management program should include. Upon completing this session participants will have the needed resources for implementing a risk management program or revising an existing program.
