QUESTION: Who is one of the most important supervisors in your institution?
ANSWER: The Head Teller.
Think about it! In most financial institutions, the Head Teller manages 25 to 35 percent of the entire staff. They are expected to keep the teller line productive and efficient, keep people motivated, and to be a top producer themselves. In addition, the group they supervise contains new employees in need of training and is likely to be the group with the highest turnover.
This session will concentrate on one of the toughest challenges of any Head Teller – effectively managing the employee with performance problems. The supervisor’s responsibility is to “get the job done” through the team. When a team member is an under-performer the result can be frustrating, puzzling, time-consuming, and it can reduce productivity and impact the moral of the group. This seminar is jam-packed with specific “hands-on” skills and ideas. Once the steps are put into motion, management will notice improved performance of the work team.
HERE’S WHAT HEAD TELLERS WILL LEARN . . . .
· Understanding the Peak Performance Cycle
· What really motivates employees
· Coaching for higher performance
· The ABC’s of performance behavior
· Confronting unwanted behavior
· Delivering “bad performance news”
· Developing a performance improvement plan
· Managing a marginal performer
· The progressive discipline process
· The “don’ts” you need to know
· The role of rewards and incentives
A staff with high motivation and improved productivity equals a better bottom line!
