Are you a bank without a dedicated IT person? Do you want to learn more about IT and some of the basics in network security? This seminar is for the individual in community banks who has responsibility for IT and IT examinations and wants to learn more about the basics. Topics will include: networking basics, network security basics, logging and monitoring, patch management, authentication, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and account management. Also included is a discussion on network scanning, including both penetration testing and vulnerability assessments. Federal regulators require your bank’s network to be scanned. What is the difference between a penetration test and a vulnerability assessment? Do you need both? After attending the session you will have a better understanding of network technology and what network security controls you can put in place to protect sensitive information and pass your next IT examination.
